According to a plan described by Railway minister, Suresh Prabhu, 100 stations are to be redeveloped into worldclass terminals with the help of NBCC at an estimated cost of R. 500 Cr. Varanasi, Jaipur, Kota, Sarai Rohilla (Delhi), Thane, Margao (Goa), Bhubaneshwar, Lucknow, Tirupati and Puducherry are the 10 stations chosen to be the first stations to get the work started.
